An excellent day of 'vis mig' with the first real influx of Redwings, with flocks of birds streaming through South early on, followed later by more Redwing flocks coming in high from the East and heading West. Starlings were also moving West in good numbers for the first time this autumn and other highlights included a single Ring Ouzel and Brambling flying SE and 7 Golden Plover heading East. The influx of Coal Tits continued with 3 birds flying over the Top Footpath heading E/SE and dropping into the hedgerow briefly. Presumably these are dispersing British Coal Tits rather than 'Continental race' birds, but where there all coming from and going too is anyones guess!
