Lutley Wedge 21/03/11 07.50am (9°c) Grey and overcast with patchy mist/low cloud. Wind (SW) F2

The overcast and slightly murky conditions grounded (1)♂ Wheatear near the entrance track to Wassell Grove Pools, briefly at 08.00am (the first on the patch this spring), and (20+) Meadow Pipits were seen nearby. 
At Wassell Grove Pools, still only (1) Chiffchaff singing.
Visible Migration :-
8 Siskin (7➝N) (1➝WNW)
2 Redpoll sp ➝N
5 Meadow Pipit ➝N
1 alba Wagtail ➝NE
1 Herring Gull ➝E

Nice one on the Wheatear Craig. I put some serious time into my patch today but no sign of Stonechat or Wheatear.

My highlights were 2 Curlew, 3 Chiffchaffs and a Small Tort

Craig - is the Wheatear on time or late for the site ? I have bashed the fields at West Hagley for the last week and still not sign of one...Laurie -

Wheatear arrival is 3-4 days later than last couple of years Laurie.
