21/02/10 Lutley Wedge 10.35am, Cold (3°c) Grey Overcast, Low Cloud. (SW/W) Wind, Overnight (-0.5°c) with (3/4 cms) snowfall

Heading West over Wassell Grove Pools



At 10.53am a flock of (16) Goosander flew over, heading West towards Wassell Grove Pools. This was followed at 11.43am by another flock of (7) Goosander, which flew East high over the far end of the top footpath. These are the first sightings of Goosander at Lutley Wedge.
Also seen:- 2 Herring Gulls, 40 Redwing and 1 Meadow Pipit. 4 Common Buzzards were soaring over Lutley Brook.

And heading off to the West...

Some signs of hard weather movements this morning, after 5-6 cm of snow fell overnight. Just before 11.00am a flock of 6 Lapwings flew in over the top footpath heading West and 9 Skylarks also flew West.
Also seen 2 Common Buzzards soaring over Lutley brook, 14 Yellowhammer, 10 Redwings, and 4 Siskins flew over.

14/02/10 Lutley Wedge, (5°c) Scattered Cloud, Sunny Intervals, N Breeze

55 Redwings were in the horse paddocks at Wassell Grove Pools, with 60 Starlings. Also seen , 4 Common Buzzards, and a Fox.

This Afternoon a mixed flock of 33 Redwing and 7 Fieldfare were feeding in the horse paddocks at Wassell Grove Pools, also 2 Common Buzzards seen.
